unpublished 1837 original hard cover poor togood Manusript 32 wide x 37.5 high 
8 pages + 2 + 20 blank!! pages. . So 8 pages are complete from start to part of rule 27, then lost pages, then list of members, then names of members (all written in 1837), then the 20 blank!! pages, mostly used by a child for adding up, not dated c1900, likely by the name inside rear that states “Thomas Nicholls born March 25th 1884”. also loose at rear, is a “Rational Sick & Burial instituted January 1837, registered under the Freiendly societies act. 1875” 1898 certificate of membership for William Thomas Watson (the name Watson is not on the 1837 list). Condition Original hardback binding, Binding fair/poor, well rubbed, spine becoming loose. Contents poor/good, 1837 manuscript part in good condition with loss of pages from rule 27 (poss only one/two pages?) to list of members The rest / kids part poor with loss . The 1898 certificate of membership loose at rear in poor condition, tears with some foxing and folding, some edge loss, all easy to read. Martham is a small cillage in Norfolk within the Broads, about 9 miles from Great. Yarmouth & 19 miles from Norwich

A rare historical manuscript receipt book of Money collected for the maintenance of roads; ( road tolls or tithes). Collected by various taxmen inc John Greenlies ( sometimes spelt John Greenlees), Andrew Ralston, John Dunlop, Alex Campbell, A. Anderson (as all hand written, spelling may be slightly incorrect|). Campbeltown (former royal burgh) is in town in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Covers the period 1812 – 1827 , i.e. Kings at the time were King George III , George IV & William IV. All manuscript in book. At one end is Road Tax that covers 5 manuscript pages also are 8 reiceips attached, 1 is all manuscript & 7 are part printed & part manuscript. The other end of book is 20 manuscript pages that look like John Greenlies bank details inc cash in 1816 at over £300, lodged in bank November 23 1824 £70 etc. Book size is 10 x 15.5, some receipts are slightly longer. See all scans.

14 single sides pages of manuscript text including 7 pressed flowers and 7 photographs of flowers + 1 mini-photograph of the author with violets on Selkirk Mountains, applied to pages. Not dated c1911-1916. Brown paper covers in fair/good condition, some edge wear, front detached. etc. Contents good & clean, some edge wear, the whole held together at edge by cord and a few pages front partly loose, as cord has torn edge to become partly detached. Authors keepsake with prose, original flowers & original photographs applied to pages, all hand written, no printing, regarding the flowers on the Revelstoke Mountains area of British Columbia, Canada. Some Photographs stamped “A Douglas Tourner, Revelstoke, B.C.” for Arthur Douglas Tourner, photographer in Revelstoke c1911 -1916,( Arthur Douglas Tourner) . So a unique museum quality item.
