Condition, Binding Fair with edge rubbing, minor loss top/base of spine, stain rear top corner. Contents good, tight, folded corner to title page, inside near front is inscribed "presented to ? ? Gyle (by) A. P. Dutcher" hard to read as in a very shaky hand. Book is about two summer trips to Europe 1881 & 1883, are described,some in great detail by Dutton an American physician from Cleveland, including the social habits of Londoners, the cemeteries of Paris, The tobacco shops of Paris, a visit to 3 principal cities of Ireland, also includes his boat trips from America, Great Britain ( mostly London & Ireland), France, Germany and small bit about Basel Switzerland.

Published date of 1st edition is accepted as 1836 as printed on cover & frontice ,i beleive the real published date was 1837 as that is the date on etchings ,i beleive they were DRAWN in 1836 evan the British Library puts the date as 1836 (1837) .. .. VERY RARE ORIGINAL COPY AS PUBLISHED .... NO INSCRIPTIONS/BOOKMARKS/WRITING/ALTERATIONS
