First Thus. 7" x 9 1/4" Approx. 2 colour illustrated pages, 412 pages+4 at front +4 page centenary number at rear (issues N0. 1-52 ).In the orig. red, black, silver & gilt covers ( front embossed country church windy lane ,hills, house, trees & people ,birds, leaves ) in fair/ good condition, . a couple of previous owners names on 1st plain pages. illustrated frontice page printed in colour+ one in middle,+ hundreds of b/w illustrations throughout, lots of cats dogs small children etc. ( a few have been hand coloured ) there is some small amounts of foxing within contents but basically ok, there are signs that binding has at sometime been re-glued at some time.

16 pages, including 7 full page colour illustrations & some small colour illustrations in text. Binding very good minimal edge rubbing, corner folding (protected with plastic). Contents very good and tight, some corner tips with minimal bending. Like many children's comics/booklets no title page, author or illustrator. But all full page illustrations signed by what looks like Cowell or Lowell. undated circa 1930/50's , It has at sometime had a protective clear plastic dust jacket type cover fitted that has a small edge tear rear.

179 pages +17 illustrated pages, Original mottled binding, well rubbed, red leather spine starting to split ( front almost detached), gilt title to spine "Fairy Repertory". ..contents poor, good reading copy only, foxed with page 163 detached (with tear). Frontice illustration page then 1st page (page No. 7 ) of book. to top of page 7, The Cabinet of Fiction" under this is title of 1st story "The Invisible Prince", so lacks title page & poss. content page. All text looks present, front end page is hand written in ink " Jane Drayson prize book at Mifs Whi---School Sittingbourne" & to next page " For Lauretta Drayson a present from her cousin Jane Drayson 11th Feb 1839 "...Contents also has 17 single sided un-numbered pages of 2 illustrations per page. (from Google 1st. owner Jane Drayson poss. same person as married Thomas Filmer Reason a Milstead farmer in Tunstall , 1 mile south of Sittingbourne.(England) on 11th May 1854 ). book undated but BL dates it as circa 1830. So apart from Frontice illustration page, it is missing Title pages etc. to page No. 7. (The start of Text/stories)

Colour binding good/fair, edge wear, fold to corner, some discolouring mostly to rear, some spine splitting. Contents Good/fair, b/w illustrations within text, no inscriptions, some ageing of paper, some foxing to inside covers. A fictional history of Tomb Thumb. Rear page colour advert for Brown and Polson's "patent" corn flour. Undated , quick net check was unable to locate another copy, only found one other "Dean's monster Series" listed on a library site as "undated c1873". But an advert inside cover is for Dean's Rag Doll Co. Ltd. Make it from 1903, Dean were at 160a Fleet Street from about 1860-1911 so I recon the correct publishing date is between 1903-1911

Undated but 1874. 12 pages, 6 full page Colour Chromolithograph illustrations & front cover. i.e. 6 double column letterpress text pages back to back with an Illustration. Condition Binding Fair, front; corner missing & rough edges, pages have all been sewn together at the spine. Rear similar with 1/8th missing. Contents has owner inscription to inside cover of Feb 5th 1875. Pages clean with rough edges & a couple of small edge tears. But as time of listing could not find another copy for sale and very few listed in Libraries, very rare. James Hain Friswell (1825-1878). Artist for illustrations unknown, all have the same decorative monogram that looks like the letters WMJ but not sure or what order. Please see all scans for condition.

104 pages + 2 pages of publishers books + a super artistic advertising page useing about 14 different forms of typeface + 6 full page illustrations. Binding of leather spine and mottled paper on board covers in fair condition, poss original boards & spine replaced or contents re-glued (years ago) to spine as tight, has some rubbing & worn corners, Contents poor, fair for a children's book, some minor tears, some minor stains & signs of being thumbed and re-glued to spine. No real title page or name of author/date, 1st page is printed "Forget Me Not, Presented to by " and in ink "Eliza Hughes" & "Mrs. Hardcastle", with "1829" to base. Next page is blank with in pencil "Eliza Hughes". Tiny printed stamp inside cover top " J. Betts, Bookseller & Stationer, 7 Compton Str, Brunswick Sq". Apart from similar/same title listed in the British Library, At time of listing found no copy listed for sale on the net. Originally purchased for my personal collection due to the publishers artistic advertising page at rear.

Contents fair/good , a tight copy with gilt edges, some dirt marks ,nothing serious, no title page , 1st page states "Beeton's Household Amusements" then 3 page colour fold out illustration ,one fold with split and very minor dirt, Questions/preface/contents then "Beeton's Riddle Book" 152 pages ," Beeton's Book of Burlesque" 156 pages, , "Beeton's Book of Acting Charades" 149 pages (inc Childrens plays), , at rear an 8 page " New books and New editions" ads of Ward, Lock, and Tyler..,there are numerous illustrations throughout, as part of front cover decoration is a gilt & black embossed pen with a figure of "Punch" top .. weight 600g . seems rare as not listed on Brit. Library site.

Undated, but with gift inscription of xmas 1912,,, 288 pages. + 24 full page colour illustrations ( inc Aris,3 by Louis Wain, Horsfall ect .)there are many b/w illustrations (inc Louis Wain , Renouf, Ethel Parkinson ect). Original decorated paper--over--hardboard ,front is a little girl in blue & white dress / bonnet with wicker basket of small xmas tree, teddy, book, doll. sitting on the sholder of young boy in a sailor uniform with (hms) "intrepid" on hat, crossing a snowy? street.on the rear is an advert for Allenburys' Foods ( for babies/children) ,,Binding is a little rubbed,with sign's of spine being reglued at some time, so strong joints. Contents ,good and tight, only a couple of b/w illusrations have be hand coloured , 2 of the collour printed illustrations have a tear (NOT the Wains)..********* it's now getting very hard to find a copy with so many colour plates (early editions had less) as 20 years ago print dealers were buying them all and removing the best ones as each were worth much more than the whole book.
